What should go in a medical bag?

It depends on your level of training. Don’t buy things you aren’t trained to use. You could end up doing more harm than good. For starters it’s always good to have bleeding control items like bandages and dressings, as well as ways to clean and sterilize wounds. If you’re using it to bring with you hiking or camping, a SAM splint is a good way to immobilize a limb. BSI is a must, meaning nitrile gloves and CPR masks. Trauma shears are good for exposing wounds. Blood pressure cuffs and pulse oximeters are good for assessing patients. Have a pen and paper to write things down. If you have a higher level of training you can also have things like OPAs and NPAs, BVMs, tourniquets, triage tape, and suctioning.
